Hey D--that is one of my favorite terms (eschew obfuscation) but I fear it would get us in trouble with the PP police...

Had to find this:

"Literally, the phrase means "avoid ambiguity, adopt clarity", but the use of relatively uncommon words causes confusion, making the phrase an example of irony, and more precisely a heterological or hypocritical phrase (it does not embody its own advice)."

Yes. It ranks in my mind with the legendary telephone greeting, "Department of Redundancy Department."

Do you literary types call that reflexive? Another old favorite:
